The lessees to construct substantial retaining wall.

where necessary to obviate landslips in the event of

their cutting away the hill to level the site.

The lessees to construct and maintain such drains or

channels as may be necessary to intercept and carry off

stormwater flowing on to the lot from the hillside.

(j). The leasees to defray the cost of removing or diverting

any existing pipe-lines, cables or overhead lines

which may in the opinion of the Director of Public

Works be interfered with by the sale of the area

coloured red.

No interference to be caused with the paths leading to

East Battery or to the village of Tai Wan, until such

paths have been diverted. Such diversions to be carried

out by Government at the expense of the leases.

The lessees to pay the sum of $6.25 for each boundary

stone required to define the lot, also the cost of

removing, refixing and cutting any existing boundary

stones; the stones will be supplied and fixed by the

Director of Public Works.

The lessees to take up the Crown Lease when called upon

to do so by the Land Officer and to pay him the sum of

$30.00 for the same.

(n).

The exact boundaries of the lot to be determined before

the issue of the Crown Lease. In the event of any

excess or deficiency in area being found to exist as

compared with the area stated in these conditions, the

amount to be paid by or to be refunded to the lessees

in respect of such exceas or deficiency will be

calculated at the rate of 15 cents per square foot.

Crown rent will be adjusted at the rate of $350.00 per

acre per annum.

I now request covering authority to

lease the areas to the Dock Company on the above terms as

extensions
